ITT: Things we want in the embark location.
Post the things that you want/need to make your dwarven fantasies come true. If I can't get a world generated that contains all the features everyone wants (or if there are conflicting ones), I'll make this a poll.
I'll start: Lava River/brook Sand Trees Lots of mountain-space (unless we're doing obsidian tower)

Everything you listed there is fine by me. Some other civs to piss off, too

I would enjoy having a chasm for eldritch abominations to crawl out of. Gives us something to fight against.

For me the essentials are:
Magma vent: Unlimited magma means unlimited hilarity. Underground river: Allows us to farm towercaps safely underground and if we "accidentally" flood the world with magma we'll still have a steady supply of water. Bottomless pit/chasm: Ideally the former. They make excellent garbage dumps and can be useful for channeling off any excess water/magma or nobles. Adamantium: Sure we may never actually find it but it'd be nice to know it's down there. In the darkness. Waiting.
Semi-Essentials: Bauxite Sand Flux stone

Stuff I'd like...
Unlimited Magma Feature. For obvious reasons.
SAAAAAAND. Can't go wrong with soil substrate/glass ingredient
Adamantium. Never gotten a fort with it yet.
Unlimited Water Works. For the magma. Never messed with an underground one, yet.
Lots of other civs to piss off.
Home civ having bauxite on embark. Failing that, mod the raws so that smelters can transmute rock to bauxite, because I find it ridiculous that the only magmaproof rock usually isn't found near magma.
Flux is nice, too, as well as the main rock layers containing iron.
Either a decent number of trees, an underground towercap farm, or a nearby civ that we can get trees from, preferably the Mountainhome.
HAUNTED GLACIER DESERT RIVER VOLCANO...ohwait

Quor really has it down in what I think we should have, although I could do without even the adamantite.

I feel that sand is more important than adimantium. I love glass so very much.

RE: Underground river I've been able to successfully grow tower-caps without use of an underground river. I flooded an underground *area* with water (overly-ambitious on one of my early farming projects) and after about 3-5 years, started getting towercaps. More each year, and they never seemed to wilt, so I think that as long as we left a large enough space to flood, we could make do with our normal waterworks.

That's certainly reassuring but I'd still rather have an underground water source whether it be a river or an aquifer just so we don't have to worry about it freezing come winter.

Alright, found a map that has everything but flux stone, and we should be able to import that. I'll post a screenshot once I get home tonight, but it's got every other feature.
